We recently tried to get our refund from Sears for a repair they couldn`t do. We paid over $200. Still no refund, and that`s after calling the company over and over and received the “run around”. It was no longer under a protection plan, but we would have to be reimbursed if they could not solve the problem. After the 3rd time with their repairman, coming in a period of 2 weeks, we had to fight just to get the repairman to fill out a form for our refund. I bought a samsung washing machine and tumble dryer from Sears and got a 5-year repair warranty. Lately, the tumble dryer has made a lot of noise, squeaks and slams. When I call sears Home, they want to hear it on the phone. Despite the loud noises emanating from him, they claim that they either can`t hear it or that the sounds are completely normal.
(This noise is far from normal.) They refuse to set a repair date. We will continue to try, but if there is collective action, I want to be there. I have listed the number of the protection group in my booklet, which is in the brochure. I called the client law group and all possible numbers without success. Even though my purchase agreement shows the receipt in HOME REPAIR, they can`t apply at home unless I agree to pay for a home visit. I spent more than 5 hours over a week solving this problem without success. I have been a customer of Sear products for over 40 years. Even if they go bankrupt, they have lost me forever.
Caveat emptor- I will NEVER buy another Sears product. My master`s contract expires on 3.11.2020. Unfortunately, I went through chemo 5 years ago and my fridge went out. I had to leave with Sears for availability and delivery. Never again! I replaced the 2x ice. The freezer went out once. And in August, my whole unit stopped cooling down. I spent over 25 hours waiting with them and three attempts at repairs it is currently working.
